Oyo State Gov pikin buy only one cloth for N3m!!!

The cloth dey cover shame? Ask yourself again oooooo. This blue hue Valentino sheer long sleeve tulle gown that has an embroidered heart on the bust-line is one of the most expensive Valentino dresses of the season. It's worth a whooping $16,900 and if you convert that to Naira (with the devaluation of naira right now) then the dress is over N3million.

Abiola Kola-Daisy, the beautiful daughter of the Oyo state governor, Abiola Ajimobi, wore it to the British Fashion Awards which held yesterday at the London Coliseum.

Oga Jona you be Nebuchadnezzar!!.......Prof. Wole Shoyinka

Nobel Laureate, Prof Wole Soyinka today likened Pres. Jonathan to the biblical Babylonian autocrat, King Nebuchadnezzar.

While speaking at a press conference at the Freedom Park in Lagos today, with the theme: “King Nebuchadnezzar – the reign of impunity,” Prof Wole Soyinka said Pres. Jonathan’s administration has become known for lawlessness and that Nigerians have been thrown into the furnace of fire just like Shedrack, Mishak and Abednego were thrown into the furnace by Nebuchadnezzar for not bowing down to him.Choi! Lol. Continue to read what he said...

"You should easily recall why I opted for King Nebu – the figure that currently sits on the top of our political pile himself evoked it, albeit in a context that virtuously disclaimed any similarities, even tendencies. Perhaps he meant it at the time when he claimed: ‘I am not Nebuchadnezzar.’ Perhaps not. One judges leaders on acts however, not pronouncements, which are often as reliable as electoral promises. King Nebu remains relevant – and not only for leadership. We, the citizens, are beginning to feel the heat. We wake up each morning to a sensation that we have been cast into the furnace together with those who at least committed the crime of dissent or criticism".
Prof Soyinka also berated the Inspector General of Police for invading the National Assembly
"The recent choice of a new leader for the guard was clearly no accident, and this hitherto unknown enforcer, one Suleiman Abba, has wasted no time in inaugurating a season of brutish power. When a people’s elected emissaries are disenfranchised, cast out like vagrants and resort to scaling fences to engage in their designated functions, the people get the message”.
He applauded the lawmakers who scaled the National Assembly fence on November 20th, saying it wasn't a show of shame but rather the finest moments of the lawmakers.

In a swift reaction, the Special Assistant to President Jonathan on Public Affairs, Dr Doyin Okupe, described the submission of Prof Soyinka as unfortunate. According to Dr Okupe, "it is quite saddening to note that Prof Wole had become so close to the opposition party so much that he has stopped giving appreciable and unbiased contribution to national topics. Our eminent professor also sadly plays the ostrich as he failed to reprimand Governor Amaechi, who is the ‘national champion of impunity and official recklessness’. The administration of President Goodluck Jonathan prides itself as the most liberal, keeping faith with adherence to rule of law and tolerance,”.

He accused the Nobel laureate of ignoring what he termed the immoral, indefensible and unlawful attitude of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, after his defection.

Fire don scatter UNIJOS.....!!

Students of the University of Jos continued their protests today following yesterday's chaos in the school over what they say is a 100% increase in school fees. ‎The protesting students set fire in front of the school gate this afternoon, insisting that school authority must reduce their fees.

The students say the fee was N27,800 but has now been increased to #60,000. They also say they were forced to pay for developmental levy which has never been used for any development within the university. They said all effort by the student union government to speak with the Vice Chancellor of the university Prof. Hayward Babale Mafuyai, was met with a brick wall as the VC refused to negotiate with the students.

Following his refusal to speak with students, they took to the streets to protest, blocking all roads leading to the university of Jos thereby bringing all activities to a standstill. All university activities was also boycotted including the exams that was meant to start yesterday 24th November.

The protests continued today...

LASU Don Seize ASUU Chairman (LASU Branch) PhD pali……

The Lagos State University (LASU) has withdrawn the PhD certificate of the Chairman of ASUU, LASU branch, Dr. Adekunle Idris.

The PHD certificates of 13 other lecturers were also withdrawn.

DAILY POST reports that the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) Lagos zonal Coordinator, Dr. Sola Nasir, said management in their letters to the affected lecturers said it discovered some errors in their PhD and asked the holders to return them.

"The ASUU-LASU chairman, Dr Idris is not alone, there are 14 other lecturers with the Accounting Department having the highest with five. For LASU Senate to have made those errors, it places question mark on the persons that make up the Senate. We can rule that the purpose was to victimize some of our members".

"What we are experiencing in LASU is a fall out of the last ASUU-LASU strike. ASUU Lagos zone and national are behind ASUU-LASU. We will fight him (VC) until he is out of the office", Nasir threatened.

Speaking on his certificate withdrawal, Idris said, "I fulfilled all the conditions before being issued the PhD certificate. It is because of the last ASUU strike; it is a backlash. They are withdrawing the certificate, if I were working abroad what will happen?

“Accreditation is coming up on December 2014, five of the lecturers whose certificates were withdrawn are from a department that will face National Universities Commission (NUC) accreditation team. It is an act of victimization. There are 14 persons involved, but I know I am the target. In the letter asking me to return the PhD certificate, no time frame was given unlike others".

“My PhD is in the Business Admin (Marketing) but they say the error is the marketing but my counsel has written the Governing Council and VC, Prof Obafunwa”.

Emmanuel Adebayor Don Yarn Say him Mama dey use Otumokpo for am…….

Togo international Emmanuel Adebayor has accused his mother of using voodoo powers on him (juju).

The Tottenham attacker is said to have even ejected his mother from the family house he built in his country, Togo, as he no longer wants an association with her.

Adebayor's cousin, Margaret told Accra-based radio station, Peace FM, that he had rejected his mother.

“For the past six years Adebayor has rejected his mother and his immediate family whilst doing charity outside on the premise that our mother is a witch,” Margaret said.

“We have been thinking of his future as a footballer and did not want this issue out in the media but it is becoming too much.

“Could you believe Adebayor ordered his machomen to sack our mother and his own mother from a house he built in Togo claiming she is a witch?

“As we speak our mother lives in an apartment rented by our junior brother, Kola Adebayor, who currently lives in Germany.

“My mother weeps bitterly about the issue every day. Anytime his mother or any of us (his close relatives) call and he realizes, he will quickly cut the call.

“I personally supervised the building of his house in Trassaco and he gave us an apartment in the house. But all of a sudden he changed his attitude towards us, one afternoon his machomen came to drive us away from the house.”

However, Adebayor denied the allegations although he admitted having a fractured relationship with his family.

“Ask my sister Margaret whether I did not build them a house in East Legon, and what happened to it? I bought my younger sister Lucia a car worth $35,000, where is it?” the former Arsenal and Manchester City striker said.

“If they want the issue resolved they should stop spreading the news and let’s meet to resolve it but they aren’t willing to do so.” Adebayor added

I was almost killed by OBJ in UNILAG plus how Students’ Unionism is dead…..Tunde Bakare

Activist/founder of the Latter Rain Assembly, Pastor Tunde Bakare has accused former president Olusegun Obasanjo of killing students unionism in the country at the time he was military head of state in 1978.
The newspaper says: According to Bakare, Obasanjo as the then Head of State in 1978, used brute force to repress the students during the “Ali must go” protest. Some students were killed in the process; one of them was Akintunde Ojo.

Delivering a paper titled, “Good Governance: Sustainability of democracy, the role of students in the fourth coming general elections”. Bakare said it was unfortunate that students unionism had been hijacked by unserious students.

Recalling the history of students unionism from the colonial days, he noted that it suffered a fatal blow in 1978. He said General Olusegun Obasanjo’s Government ordered the brutal suppression of that protest. Live bullets were unleashed on protesting students. As we proceeded outside the University Of Lagos main gate, I narrowly escaped death, as Akintunde Ojo, the gentleman standing just beside me was gun down.

Today, thousands of students in the University Of Lagos use the school’s library which was named after Akintunde Ojo but never bother to know how he died!!

HEALTH OF BOY ATTACKED BY DOGS WORSENS. FATHER CRIES OUT, DOCTORS HAVE ABANDONED MY SON…..

It appears the condition of four year old Omonigho Abraham who was attacked by two dogs in igando area of Lagos state in Nigeria about a month ago has worsened in Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja (LASUTH) where he is currently receiving treatment.

His father, Mr. Odia told our reporters that Omonigho’s scalp which was torn off by the German Shepherd dogs during the gruesome attack had not healed and had been giving offensive odour. Odia further said that attempts to get medical report of his condition had also been frustrated by some medical officers in the hospital. “Infact, for up to two weeks no consultant or doctor attended to him and his head started smelling. We have been told he may still have to be admitted for up to six months or a year for the doctors to do a skin grafting surgery on his open skull. They will cut skin from part of his body to cover up the skull…” He added that he had continue to pay the bills despite the fact that a letter was sent to to LASUTH from the Lagos State Government that they will pay all the bills. He also said that the hospital management did not honor the letter from Lagos State Government initially but promised to adhere to it from this week.

Meanwhile, the Delta State Government and a few Nigerians were interested in the medical report which is yet to be issued by LASUTH.

Court Sentenced Provost To Five Years Imprisonment For Collecting Illegal Allowance

Acting Provost of the Federal College of Education, Technical, Gusau, Dr. Bello Ahmed, has been sentence to five years imprisonment for five years in jail for collecting illegal allowance from the institution.
The State High Court In Gusau, Zamfara State sentence Dr. Bello Ahmed to five years imprisonment.
Independent Corrupt Practices ICPC, in a statement by its Resident Consultant (Media and Events), Mr. Folu Olamiti, yesterday, in Abuja, said such abuse was punishable under Section 19 of ICPC Act 2000.
According to the statement, the law stipulates that, “any public officer who uses his office or position to gratify or confer any corrupt or unfair advantage upon himself or associate of the public officer or any public officer shall be guilty of an offence and shall on conviction be liable to imprisonment for five years without option of fine.”
Dr. Ahmed was accused of collecting DTA, between 13 and 16 November 2006, from the college for an official trip to attend a board meeting of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, while equally collecting an equal amount as DTA from JAMB, including sitting allowances, all totalling N385,000.00.
The accused, who was arraigned by ICPC on an eight-count charge bordering on corruption and abuse of office, pleaded guilty to the offence and asked for leniency.
However, the presiding Judge, Justice Amaize, said he was not swayed by the plea of allocutus, as the accused lacked integrity and sentenced Ahmed to five years imprisonment without an option of fine.
The ICPC warned public servants to desist from collecting double DTA from their agencies and also receiving or demanding same in cash or facilities.

The statement partly read, “Public servants should learn from the conviction of Dr. Shallah Ahmed. He was accused of having collected DTA from the college for an official trip to attend a board meeting of the JAMB while also collecting an equal amount as DTA from JAMB, including sitting allowances; all totalling N385,000.00.”

Bill To Abolish Polytechnic, University Dichotomy Passes Second Reading At Senate

A bill to abolish and prohibit dichotomy and discrimination between university graduates and holders of the Higher National Diploma (HND) in the same profession has passed second reading in the Nigerian Senate.

The sponsor of the bill, Senator Ayo Akinyelure, said the wage disparity and gross discrimination of polytechnic graduates in the public and private sectors threaten to derail the nation’s drive towards a technological and scientific based society.

It is an issue which a solution has so far evaded policy makers.

Nigerian polytechnic graduates have had different experiences of workplace discrimination because of their HND certificate.

The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) embarked on strike in 2013 which lasted for nearly ten months.

One of the issues in dispute is the persistent discrimination and dichotomy between polytechnic and university graduates.

Although ASUP temporarily suspended the strike, the issue was not resolved.

The consideration of the bill to abolish and prohibit dichotomy and discrimination between university graduates and holders of the HND certificate in the same profession has continued in the Senate, something that many polytechnic graduates will be happy to see scale through.

During the debate, some lawmakers totally supported the bill, others insisted that some changes needed to be made to bring both institutions at par, while a federal lawmaker was totally against the bill.

The bill eventually passed its second reading and was sent to the Senate Committee on Education for further legislative work.
